Soft knitwear, a long skirt, and a little contrast

An outfit idea for days when you want ease without losing the details.

The story

A soft knit and a skirt make an inviting pair, but the interesting part is often the contrast. Try a relaxed sweater with a skirt that has a clear line, or a finer knit with a fuller silhouette.

Begin with the waist. You might prefer the sweater loose, a small front tuck, or a hem that ends just above the skirt’s waistband. Look at the outfit from the side as well as the front; a photograph can help you compare.

Choose shoes for the length you are wearing. A visible flat, a boot or a low heel will each change the space between the skirt and the ground. There is no single correct version.

Keep jewellery close to the mood of the outfit. A small necklace can echo the softness, while a more sculptural piece introduces a deliberate interruption.

This is a suggestion to try with familiar clothes. The pleasure is in finding the combination that feels quietly right to you.
