CultureRead the book. Leave the challenge.

You do not need to understand every room to leave with something worth keeping.

Give yourself permission to spend time with one object. A gallery visit does not have to be a test of how much you can cover before closing time.
Write down what you notice before reading the label. It might be a colour, a curve, an unexpected material or a feeling you cannot name yet. Then read the explanation and see what changes.
If sketching is allowed, draw a small detail. The drawing does not need to be good. Slowing down enough to make it is the useful part. Follow the museum’s rules about materials and photography.
At home, return to one observation. Perhaps it suggests a colour pairing, a sentence or a question to look up. A museum notebook can become a record of your attention rather than a catalogue of everything you saw.
